Health Benefits of Papaya Leaves

According to Health & Life magazine, Dr. Tran Ngoc Que, President of the Quang Binh Traditional Medicine Association, states that papaya leaf extract can help increase platelet count, especially during infections.

Papaya leaves are rich in antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, and flavonoids, which protect cells from free radicals and oxidative stress—helping to prevent chronic diseases and reduce cell damage.

They also contain anti-inflammatory compounds like alkaloids and flavonoids, which may help alleviate muscle pain, joint discomfort, and reduce general inflammation in the body.

Studies also show that papaya leaf extract can support digestive health, relieve bloating, constipation, and improve symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome by promoting the growth of healthy gut bacteria.

Papaya leaves contain acetogenins, which help detoxify the liver and protect it from damage caused by alcohol, medication, and other toxins. These compounds enhance the liver's natural ability to flush out harmful substances.

Additionally, papaya leaves benefit the skin by accelerating skin cell repair, boosting collagen production, and slowing down aging. With antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, they may also help treat acne and skin infections.
