After a period of use, dirt can accumulate at the bottom and sides of the kettle. If these dirt are not removed, the water quality will be affected and the efficiency of boiling water will also decrease.
To remove these dirt, you do not need to spend time scrubbing. There are many ways to help clean limescale in the kettle using natural ingredients that are safe for your health.
- Use vinegar or lemon
Vinegar and lemon contain natural acids, which help soften and remove limescale effectively. You can pour a little vinegar into the kettle or cut a lemon into thin slices. Add water to the kettle and boil. Let the water boil for a while and soak until the water cools. The limescale will dissolve in the acidic environment. After that, you just need to rinse the kettle with clean water.
- Use eggshells
Wash the eggshells and crush them. Put the eggshells in the kettle, add more water and boil. Occasionally use chopsticks to stir the eggshells in the kettle. After the water boils, the kettle automatically turns off, then soak it for a while to dissolve the dirt. Pour out the water and eggshells, rinse the kettle clean.
- Use baking soda
Put a spoonful of baking soda in the kettle, add water and boil. Baking soda will help remove dirt inside the kettle.
You can also combine baking soda with beer to clean the inside and outside of the kettle.
- Use carbonated soft drinks
Carbonated soft drinks can clean dirt in the kettle. You just need to pour a can of coca into the kettle and leave it for at least 1 hour. If you need it urgently, you can boil the soft drinks in the kettle and use a wooden spoon to stir the bottom of the kettle for a few minutes. Rinse the kettle with cold water.
- Use potato peels
Put the washed potatoes in the kettle and add cold water. Then boil the water for about 10 minutes. Next, pour out the water and potato peels, rinse the kettle with clean water.
- Use activated carbon
You can put some activated carbon in the kettle, add cold water and boil. The activated carbon will help clean the dirt in the kettle. Then, you just need to pour out all the water in the kettle and rinse it with clean water.
