Top foods with no expiration date, the longer they are kept, the more valuable they become.

If you are always worried about the expiration dates of food, here are some options that will give you complete peace of mind.
Using food within the specified expiration period allows us to fully take advantage of its nutritional value and flavor. However, this also means we need to calculate how much to buy and when to consume it to avoid waste. If you find this inconvenient, don’t worry, there are some foods that you don’t need to worry too much about their expiration dates. Here are four typical examples:
Aged Vinegar
Due to its high acidity, vinegar has a very long shelf life, and it can even preserve itself without refrigeration. Vinegar is considered “aged” when its acidity exceeds 4.5 degrees. Even without preservatives, this type of vinegar can still be stored for a long period.
The high acidity, which corresponds to a low pH, creates an environment that inhibits the growth of microorganisms and prevents bacteria. This is why vinegar can preserve itself without refrigeration.
However, to ensure the best quality of vinegar, it’s still recommended to store it properly. Keep vinegar in a dry, cool place, away from direct light and heat sources to prevent it from deteriorating.
Salt
Essentially, salt is a mineral, not an organic ingredient, so it doesn’t spoil in the usual way. Additionally, salt is used to preserve food, prevent mold and bacteria growth, and help food stay fresh longer. The way it works is that salt draws moisture out of food through the process of osmosis, creating a dry environment that inhibits the growth of microorganisms.
However, it’s important to note that iodized salt is typically recommended for use within one year. Iodine tends to evaporate over time, reducing the nutritional content of the salt. Even so, you can still use this type of salt as regular table salt after that period.
Sugar

Similar to salt, sugar can be stored indefinitely if kept in a dry place, away from moisture and high temperatures. Even if sugar absorbs moisture and clumps together, its quality and nutritional value remain unchanged. Therefore, you can confidently use sugar for a long time without worrying about its expiration.
While the texture of sugar may change over time, such as clumping, in essence, sugar never truly expires.
Honey
Honey is a nutritious food loved by many. There is a common misconception that honey is better when it’s fresh and will spoil if kept for too long. However, in reality, honey is one of the few foods that have "no expiration date." The nature of honey contains powerful antibacterial properties, and over time, its flavor actually becomes more robust.
This remarkable preservative ability comes from honey’s special composition: high sugar content, low moisture, and the presence of natural gluconic acids and hydrogen peroxide. These factors work together to help honey avoid oxidation when exposed to air.
To preserve honey best, simply store it in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight. There is no need to refrigerate honey. Proper storage will help honey maintain its quality and flavor for a very long time.
