After confessing that he developed romantic feelings for Claudine Barretto, Yasser Marta talked anew about his relationship with the actress and called it “right love, wrong time.”
Barretto and Marta had a chance to work together in the GMA drama series “Lovers/Liars”. In the intriguing drama, Barretto plays Via, a successful businesswoman who got entangled in a secret love affair with a younger man, Caloy (Marta).
On the Wednesday episode of “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,” the Sparkle actor clarified that he and Barretto were not in a romantic relationship, but that he wishes he could turn back time so they could exist at the same time in the industry.
“Ako, kung maibabalik ko lang siguro, ‘yung panahon dati na sabay kaming nandito sa industriya, Tito Boy, sana mabalik ko ‘yon. ‘Yung [sabi sa] kanta nga, right love at the wrong time,” said the 27-year-old actor.
(If only I could bring back the time when we were here together in the industry, Tito Boy, I hope I can bring it back. Just like what the song says, right love at the wrong time.)
Despite their 17-year gap, Marta professed his admiration for the “Anak” actress, saying that Barretto possesses everything he looks for in a girl.
“Sino ba ang hindi mahuhulog sa isang Miss Claudine Barretto? Napakalambing, napakaganda, lahat ng iwi-wish mo nasa kaniya na,” he said.
During his last appearance on “Sarap Di Ba?” Marta revealed his feelings towards the actress and rated their closeness at 10 out of 10 after they got to work in GMA’s drama “Lovers & Liars.”
“I’m going to be honest. Totoo. Ako naman, ‘yung naramdaman ko at that moment, naging totoo ako, gusto ko rin naman talaga si Claudine,” he remarked. (True. As for me, what I felt at that moment became real; I also really like Claudine.)
Meanwhile, Barretto recently said that she has no plans to enter into any romantic relationship until her annulment with her previous husband, Raymart Santiago, has been finalized. She has two children from her past marriage.
