Attention

Tiger tongue is quite easy to care for, this plant grows well whether placed indoors or outdoors. Just put a leaf of tiger tongue in the ground, it will take root and grow into a new plant.

The flowering time of tiger tongue is quite long, it can bloom from a few weeks to a month. After withering, the flower stalks near the base need to be cut off to reduce nutrient loss and maintain the vitality of the plant.

And here are 3 things you need to pay attention to if you want your tiger tongue plant to bloom.

1. Place the plant in sunlight for a certain period of time
Tiger tongue is a type of plant that does not like too much shade or too hot environment. The plant grows well in low light conditions. If you place the plant in a place with little sunlight, try to place it next to an east-facing window.

If you grow the plant indoors, bring it outside to bask in the sun between 7am and 9am.

When exposed to suitable light conditions, this plant will grow quickly, produce many buds and bloom quickly.

2. Loose, airy soil
Tiger tongue likes loose, airy, well-drained soil. If the soil is compacted and accumulates water, the roots will rot, causing the leaves to turn yellow and slow growth.

When planting tiger tongue, you can mix alluvial soil, wood chips and potting soil.

Note that tiger tongue prefers alkaline soil, not acidic soil.

3. Don't water too much
Tiger tongue does not need much water, so you should not water it too often. In the cold and rainy season, you should only water it once a month. To know if the plant needs watering, you can look at the roots of the soil or insert a wooden chopstick into the soil. When you take the chopstick out, if the chopstick is dry, it means the soil is dry. If the soil is dry, you need to water the plant with a moderate amount of water.
