Rusty gas stoves and stubborn grease will last a long time. Apply these 5 tips to make them shiny

Gas stoves that are wet, have food spills, and oil splashes will create layers of dirt that stick tightly and oxidize, causing rust. Therefore, if they are not cleaned regularly and properly, they will become dirty and affect cooking. Applying these tips will help keep the gas stove clean and shiny without chemicals:

1. Use vinegar/lemon juice to clean rust

Vinegar is acidic, so it can clean and peel off stains better. Therefore, use a soft cloth soaked in vinegar and apply evenly on the dirty surface of the gas stove. Leave it for about 15 minutes, then wipe it off. If you are using a stove, you can soak it in a basin of vinegar before scrubbing it with an iron pad.

Similar to using vinegar, you can use lemon. Use the lemon slices that have just been squeezed out of juice to rub on the surface of the gas stove. The acidity in lemon juice also helps stains peel off easily, making it easy to clean without a fishy smell.

2. Use hot water to remove rust stains on gas stoves

Hot water is also often used to clean items that have been dirty for a long time and have an oily nature. The high temperature of the water helps soften the grease, so the stains will peel off more easily.

However, remember to wear protective gloves to use a towel soaked in hot water to scrub the stove surface. As for the stove grate, put it in a basin, pour boiling water in it and soak for about 10 minutes, then use an iron grate to scrub it again.

3. Use baking soda

Baking soda is also an assistant for housewives. Baking soda is not only a cooking additive but also an effective cleaner. Mix baking soda with water to create a thick mixture, then apply it to the stove surface, leave it for 20 minutes and scrub it again to remove stains better.

4. Use hot rice water

Rice water contains starch, so it helps clean greasy stains more easily. The hot nature of rice water helps soften stains.

So use a towel soaked in hot rice water and apply it to the surface of the stain. Then use an iron scrubber to clean more thoroughly.

5. Use cooking oil

Cooking oil is the cause of oxidation and stains. But it also helps soften stains, similar to rice water. Therefore, apply cooking oil to the stove surface before using iron armor to scrub. The final step is to use hot water to clean it again.

Suggestions for using a gas stove to avoid rust:

When cleaning pots and pans, let the bottom dry before placing them on the stove, avoid water falling on the stove grate, which will increase the risk of rust and affect the ignition part, causing the flame to turn red, blackening the bottom of the pot and dirtying the stove.

After each cooking session, use a clean cloth to wipe the surface to avoid grease and food stains from sticking to the stove surface for a long time.

When cooking, focus on avoiding food spilling over the mouth of the pot and falling onto the stove, which will increase rust and many stains that are difficult to clean on the gas stove.

When using gas, you should pay attention to check the gas for a blue flame, a red flame is a problem and will cause more black dust to stick to pots, pans and stoves.
