Shrimp and Cheese Grilled Sandwich

Ingredients:

  • 200g shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 4 slices of bread (preferably thick-sliced)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (such as mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)

  • 2 tablespoons butter (softened)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 garlic clove, minced

  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for added flavor)

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional, for a tangy kick)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the shrimp:

    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.

    • Add the shrimp to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using), and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are fully cooked and slightly golden.

    • Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp for a fresh, zesty flavor. Set aside.

  2. Prepare the bread:

    • Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.

    • Place the bread slices butter-side down on a flat surface.

  3. Assemble the sandwich:

    • On one slice of bread (butter-side down), layer the cooked shrimp, followed by a generous amount of shredded cheese.

    • Top with another slice of bread, butter-side up.

  4. Grill the sandwich:

    • Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.

    • Place the sandwich on the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted inside.

  5. Finish and serve:
