Why shouldn't we keep the door completely closed when using air conditioning?

We often believe that when using air conditioning, it's essential to keep the door completely closed to ensure cooling efficiency and prevent damage to the unit. However, this approach isn't entirely correct.

When turning on the air conditioner, we typically close all doors tightly to avoid cold air escaping and to save energy. However, many people don’t realize that the air inside a closed, air-conditioned room is often 2 to 5 times more polluted than outdoor air. Continuously using air conditioning in a small, sealed room can make the space feel stuffy, and users may experience discomfort, as if there's not enough oxygen to breathe. This is particularly harmful to the elderly and young children, who are more susceptible to negative health impacts.

To mitigate this, you can create small gaps for air circulation or install ventilation fans. It's also a good idea to choose air conditioners that have air purification functions, which help both cool the room and maintain good health.

Experts recommend opening the room’s doors every 30 minutes to let the room "breathe." This will refresh the air and prevent the stifling atmosphere that can negatively affect both mental and physical well-being.
