You should move house now

Rice in the pot turning moldy is a sign of improper storage or not cleaning the rice cooker regularly. Moldy rice can be harmful to health because mold can produce toxins that affect the digestive system and cause food-related diseases. This is why moving houses in such a case might be considered. However, in reality, you do not need to move because of this issue.

Instead, you can:

  • Clean the rice cooker: Regularly clean the rice cooker. When cooking rice, avoid leaving leftover rice in the pot for too long without eating it or storing it properly.

  • Store leftover rice: If you have leftover rice, you should store it in the fridge immediately to prevent mold growth.

  • Use a quality rice cooker: A rice cooker with a keep-warm function and automatic shut-off when the rice is done can help prevent mold from forming.

  • Check and clean regularly: Make sure to keep the rice cooker and other kitchen utensils clean to prevent mold issues.

And according to some beliefs, if the rice left outside is leaking water, it means your family is facing bad luck, and you should move out immediately
