She even had to prepare for her own funeral when she learned about her cancer.

A woman living in West Sussex, England, suffered from a rare type of cancer. After undergoing surgery to remove 8 internal organs, her cancer was cured. Now, she can return to her favorite job and raise money for charities.

The woman's name is Faye Louise, living in Horsham, West Sussex. In 2023, she was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma peritonei, a rare cancer that causes a jelly-like buildup of mucus in the abdomen.

Faye started experiencing abdominal pain in the spring of 2023. Initially, she thought it was due to her period, but an ultrasound revealed an ovarian cyst. After surgery, she was diagnosed with Pseudomyxoma peritonei.

The tumour ruptured, causing the cancer cells to spread throughout Faye's body, forcing her to undergo major surgery to remove eight of her internal organs. She even had to prepare for her funeral.

During the surgery, the organs removed included her spleen, gallbladder, appendix, ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, navel, greater and lesser omentum (tissues that connect the stomach, duodenum and other organs in the abdomen), and part of her liver. Tissues in her diaphragm and pelvis were also removed.

After the surgery, Faye Louise announced that she had beaten cancer and was ready to return to work at Gatwick Airport as a flight dispatcher. She expressed her joy at being able to return to her favourite job.

She shared: "When I was told that I was disease-free, it was truly the best Christmas present I could have ever received."

Every November, she has to undergo tests to check her health. The results of these tests are crucial to whether she can enjoy a full Christmas. Despite the worries, she always tries to move forward and never gives up hope.

She said: “There are days when I fall into a deep state of despair, but now I have more positive days.”

As well as returning to work, Faye Louise is also actively raising funds for Cancer Research UK. She completed the “Race for Life” event held at Stanmer Park, Brighton to raise money for the charity.
