Avoid random combinations.
Luffa is the "king of vegetables," but don't pair it with these common foods.
The nutritional value of loofah is quite high, offering various health benefits such as lowering blood pressure, reducing blood sugar, improving constipation, enhancing skin appearance, and protecting the liver.
However, not all foods are suitable to combine with loofah. Below are some common foods that should not be eaten with loofah:
Loach Fish
Loofah is rich in vitamin B1, while loach fish contains an enzyme that breaks down vitamin B1. When eaten together, the enzyme in loach fish will destroy the vitamin B1 in loofah, reducing its nutritional value.
Spinach
Both spinach and loofah are cold foods and high in fiber. Eating them together may accelerate intestinal motility, potentially causing digestive disorders, stomachaches, or diarrhea. Additionally, spinach contains oxalic acid, while loofah is rich in calcium. When combined, the oxalic acid in spinach interacts with the calcium in loofah to form calcium oxalate, making it difficult for the body to absorb the calcium.
White Radish
Both white radish and loofah are cold foods. Eating them together can cause stomach discomfort or cramps.
