The dinner ended, the night got colder and colder, by the red fire, Hoan and Hiem confided in each other. The 1997-born man mustered up all his courage to confess his love to the woman 27 years older than him.

"At that time, my heart was beating so fast, I was so nervous that I couldn't say much, I only dared to ask: Can you be my girlfriend?", Hoan recalled that special moment.

Receiving the confession, Hiem was silent for a few minutes because she was a bit shocked and surprised. Afraid of being "cheated on", she explained her situation as a mother of 4 children, who had not dared to think about love for many years.

"My mother-in-law likes older daughters-in-law, afraid that young girls won't be able to endure hardship and will soon break up. Knowing that I'm over 50, she is very supportive, hoping that the two of them will be happy," Ms. Hiem said.

From then on, they made their love public. Ms. Hiem called Hoan her husband and called herself wife, while her children happily called him "young man".

"I don't like flowers or gifts. On holidays like March 8 or October 20, the two of us go out for a simple, cozy dinner, and that's enough happiness," Hiem shared.

Like other couples, in life, Hoan and Hiem cannot avoid arguing. The guy from Son La is always the one to comfort each other because he is "afraid that his wife will get angry".

"We are never angry with each other for more than 4 minutes. Every time we are angry, he always makes jokes to create a happy atmosphere", Hiem confided.

Recently, when an acquaintance introduced them to a job at a construction site in Hanoi, they decided to go to the capital together to make a living, continuing to nurture their love.

When they went to Hanoi to work on a project together, many people around them mistook them for mother and daughter. Every time someone asked: "Mother and daughter?", Hiem just shyly nodded to let the matter go. But Hoan did not: "This is my wife", he affirmed loudly. That statement made her both confused and happy, because he had never hidden his feelings.

Every few months, they returned to their hometown to visit their parents. Even though she is old, Hoan's mother still sees her daughter-in-law as a new bride, taking care of her every little thing. Every time the couple goes to the city, she packs food, prepares each set of clothes...
