Succulent Herb Butter Beef Tenderloin Roas

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs beef tenderloin

  • 1/4 cup butter, softened

  • 2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, chopped

  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme, chopped

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

1.  Preheat the Oven:

-  Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it’s hot enough for roasting.

2.  Prepare the Herb Butter:

-  In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped rosemary, and chopped thyme.

-  Season with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together until well combined.

3.  Season the Beef Tenderloin:

-  Pat the beef tenderloin dry with paper towels.

-  Rub the entire surface of the beef with salt and pepper to season.

4.  Apply the Herb Butter:

-  Generously coat the beef tenderloin with the prepared herb butter mixture. Ensure the butter covers the entire surface of the meat.

5.  Sear the Beef (optional but recommended):

-  Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.

-  Once the skillet is hot, sear the beef tenderloin on all sides until browned (about 2-3 minutes per side). This will help lock in the juices and flavor.

6.  Roast the Beef:

-  Transfer the skillet with the seared beef to the preheated oven.

-  Roast the beef for 25-30 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the time depending on your preferred level of doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check:

  • 120-125°F for rare
  • 130-135°F for medium-rare
  • 140-145°F for medium

7.  Rest the Beef:

-  Once the beef is cooked to your desired temperature, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 10-15 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute and ensures a juicy, tender roast.

8.  Serve:
