When buying melons, just look at this point to know which ones are ripe, sweet, juicy, and safe.

Cantaloupe is a delicious fruit, bringing freshness, loved by many people in the summer. 90% of cantaloupe is water, so this fruit is very suitable for quenching thirst on hot days.

Cantaloupe also contains 9% carbohydrates, 0.1% fat and 0.5% protein... The vitamin C content in cantaloupe is also very high. Eating cantaloupe not only replenishes water for the body but also helps beautify the skin, lower blood pressure...

Cantaloupe has an irresistible aroma and sweet taste. However, not all cantaloupes are as sweet as desired.

According to the experience of melon farmers, to choose delicious, sweet and satisfactory fruit, you need to pay attention to the following issues.

Observe the n.a.vel of the melon

The circular part at the bottom of the melon is the na.vel of the melon. When buying a melon, you need to observe this part. When the melon is ripe, the round na.vel will become larger. The rounder, fuller, and larger the na.vel, the sweeter it is.

Smell the aroma of the melon

You can pick up the melon and smell its aroma. Ripe melons will have a clear aroma. If the melon is young and not yet ripe, the aroma will be light, or even odorless.

Observe the color

The sugar content in melons is related to the time the melon is exposed to sunlight. The longer the melon is exposed to sunlight, the sweeter it is. Melons with a yellow-green color are usually ripe melons with a strong sweetness.

Melons with a completely green or too white, pale skin are often not ripe enough, and have a less fragrant and sweet taste.

Melon hardness

When buying melons, gently press on the navel of the melon to check. If there is a slight elasticity, the melon is ripe. If it is too hard or too soft, you should not buy it, either because the melon is still young, or because the melon has been left for a long time and has become soft.

When buying melons, choose intact melons that are not scratched. In particular, do not buy melons that are bumped or crushed. Melons are inherently watery. Once bumped, the melon will rot very quickly.

Melon stem

When buying fruits, one step that cannot be skipped is to look at the stem. You should buy melons with stems still attached. This is a sign that the melon has just been harvested and will have the freshest flavor.
