Pinch of salt

¼ cup pecans (whole or roughly chopped)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Bananas

Slice the bananas lengthwise into halves.

Set aside on a plate. Make sure bananas are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape while cooking.
Step 2: Toast the Pecans

Heat a dry skillet over medium heat.

Add pecans and toast for 2–3 minutes, stirring frequently, until fragrant.

Remove from the pan and set aside.
Step 3: Make the Caramel Sauce

In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat.

Add brown sugar and stir continuously until dissolved and bubbling.

Pour in the heavy cream and stir until smooth.

Add vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

Let the sauce simmer gently for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.
Step 4: Caramelize the Bananas

Carefully place banana slices cut-side down into the caramel sauce.

Cook for 1–2 minutes per side until golden and glossy.

Spoon sauce over the bananas as they cook.
Step 5: Assemble the Dish

Arrange the warm caramelized bananas in a shallow bowl or plate.

Place vanilla ice cream on top or alongside the bananas.

Sprinkle toasted pecans over the dish.

Drizzle extra caramel sauce on top.
