For the Shrimp

  • 500 g (1 lb) large shrimp, peeled and deveined

For the Sauce

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp ketchup

  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or lemon juice

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp grated ginger (optional)

For Garnish

  • Chopped green onions

  • Sesame seeds

  • Fresh cilantro (optional)


Instructions

1. Prepare the Shrimp

  1. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels.

  2. In a bowl, toss shrimp with cornstarch, salt, pepper, and paprika until evenly coated.


2. Cook the Shrimp

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Add shrimp in a single layer (cook in batches if needed).

  3. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, crispy, and cooked through.

  4. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.


3. Make the Sauce

  1. In the same pan, reduce heat to medium.

  2. Add minced garlic (and ginger if using) and sauté for 20–30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add honey, soy sauce, sriracha, ketchup, and vinegar.

  4. Stir well and simmer for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.


4. Combine

  1. Return cooked shrimp to the pan.

  2. Toss shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated and glossy.

  3. Cook for another 1 minute to let flavors combine.


5. Serve

  1. Transfer shrimp to a serving bowl.

  2. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro.

  3. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or as an appetizer.
