Shrimp Stir-Fry with Broccoli & Carrots 

Ingredients

For the stir-fry

  • 300–350 g shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 medium carrot, sliced

  • 3–4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

For the sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tsp fish sauce (optional)

  • 1 tbsp sugar or honey

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 3 tbsp water (adjust for more sauce)

For garnish

  • Extra black pepper

  • Sesame seeds (optional)


Instructions

1. Blanch the vegetables

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.

  2. Add broccoli and carrot; blanch for 1–2 minutes until slightly tender.

  3. Drain and set aside.

2. Prepare the sauce

  • In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce (optional), sugar/honey, black pepper, and water.

  • Stir until well combined.

3. Cook the shrimp

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.

  3. Add shrimp and stir-fry until they turn pink (about 2–3 minutes).

  4. Do not overcook to keep them juicy.

4. Add vegetables & sauce

  1. Add broccoli and carrots to the pan.

  2. Pour the sauce mixture over.

  3. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.

5. Finish

  • Sprinkle extra black pepper or sesame seeds.

  • Adjust sweetness or saltiness to taste.

6. Serve

  • Serve hot with rice or enjoy as a standalone healthy dish.
