Shrimp Stir-Fry with Broccoli & Carrots
Ingredients
For the stir-fry
-
300–350 g shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
2 cups broccoli florets
-
1 medium carrot, sliced
-
3–4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp cooking oil
For the sauce
-
1 tbsp soy sauce
-
1 tbsp oyster sauce
-
1 tsp fish sauce (optional)
-
1 tbsp sugar or honey
-
½ tsp black pepper
-
3 tbsp water (adjust for more sauce)
For garnish
-
Extra black pepper
-
Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions

1. Blanch the vegetables
-
Bring a pot of water to a boil.
-
Add broccoli and carrot; blanch for 1–2 minutes until slightly tender.

Drain and set aside.
2. Prepare the sauce
-
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce (optional), sugar/honey, black pepper, and water.

Stir until well combined.
3. Cook the shrimp
-
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
-
Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
-
Add shrimp and stir-fry until they turn pink (about 2–3 minutes).
-
Do not overcook to keep them juicy.
4. Add vegetables & sauce
-
Add broccoli and carrots to the pan.
-
Pour the sauce mixture over.
-
Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until everything is coated and heated through.
5. Finish
-
Sprinkle extra black pepper or sesame seeds.
-
Adjust sweetness or saltiness to taste.
6. Serve
-
Serve hot with rice or enjoy as a standalone healthy dish.
