Rosé shares BLACKPINK’s new album plans and her aspirations for more potential solo collaborations

Rosé has shared her thoughts on BLACKPINK's upcoming album and her future as a solo artist.

Appearing on JTBC's 'Newsroom' after the global success of her song "APT." with Bruno Mars, Rosé opened up about her experience and collaboration with the pop icon. She revealed their close friendship, saying, "I even told him I was appearing on the news that day, and he said, 'Be sure to tell them Bruno Mars is the best.'"

Discussing BLACKPINK’s future activities, she announced, "Next year, we’re planning to release an album and go on tour," confirming fans' anticipation for a new album from the group as a fully united group.

Rosé also touched on her ambitions as a solo artist. When asked about potential collaborations with other pop stars, she remarked, "There aren’t any specific plans at the moment. The collaboration with Bruno Mars was such a surprising coincidence. Still, if another opportunity arises, I think it would be so exciting to do another fun collaboration."

Reflecting on her musical preferences, Rosé shared her love for a wide range of genres, from upbeat tracks to ballads, and noted that "APT." was a style she had always wanted to explore.

Speaking further about her work with Bruno Mars, she described it as a surreal experience:

"At first, it was just so surreal, but he was incredibly supportive and inspiring. [...] At the time, my voice was still quite hoarse, but he was upfront, saying, ‘No, no,’ and guiding me with suggestions. It was such a surreal experience. I was such a fan, and to have him sing and direct me in person was incredible. I just gave it my all, belting out the notes as best as I could. [...] He added so much of his own color to what we brought in, which expanded the world of the song even further."

Are you excited for Rosé and BLACKPINK's future comebacks? What collaborations or genres are you hoping to see?
