Woman Brands Lindt's Sharing Tin 'Pathetic' After Getting 32 As Advertised

A woman has blasted Lindt after she opened up one of the chocolate giant’s new sharing tins to find there were only 32 truffles inside.

But it would seem that no one told the disgruntled customer from Liverpool that’s how many there were supposed to be and how many were advertised.

Posting a photograph of the tin, the irate chocoholic branded the offering ‘pathetic’, and warned others not to make the same mistake she did.

The scathing reviewer wrote: “For all those who were brimming with excitement at the new Lindt chocolate tins, THIS is the pathetic and disgusting amount of chocolates actually in them…Bought this today from Tesco, opened with pure delight and then sat back in complete disbelief…£10 they are charging for the amount of chocolates that would fill one of their standard £4 boxes….Don’t waste your money people.”

As unaware as the unhappy shopper, plenty of others piled into the comments to echo her ‘disgust’, with one person saying: “I’ve been hinting at the kids that I want a tin for Xmas! I think I’ll tell them to save their money!”

While another even suspected foul play, asking: “Was box sealed when u bought them? That’s awful.”

Others, however, had seen the adverts and helpfully pointed out the fact that Lindt had made it clear the tins were only ever meant to contain 32 individually wrapped sweet treats.

One user commented: “I read in a post advertising them there were only 32 chocolates so I don’t know why so many people are shocked by it.”

With another echoing this, writing: “It does say 32 chocolates per tin!”

Eventually, the once irate customer admitted that maybe she had made a mistake, but while she conceded that she was wrong, the woman didn’t take down the post.

Lindt Has Released A Huge Sharing Tin Of Chocolate Truffles10 days ago

A spokesperson for Lindt said: “We are sorry to hear consumers are disappointed with the Lindor Christmas tin, and this is something we take very seriously.

“As a premium chocolate manufacturer, we would like to offer our customers a suitable range of products for different occasions of use: Whether for sharing, self-consumption, as a gift or as decoration at home.

“Each of our Lindor Christmas tins contains an average 32 individually wrapped truffles, double the amount contained within our bestselling 200g box of Lindor truffles. Especially for Christmas, we have packaged it in a presentation tin to make it perfect for sharing and gifting. As it is not a standard but seasonal item, the packaging process is more complex and the production quantity is lower compared to the classic Lindor box.

“We are of course taking all feedback on board and are working with our teams to ensure our consumers are fully happy with every Lindor product they enjoy this Christmas.”

Clearly some people got so blinded by the idea of being able to stuff their faces with six flavours of truffle – classic milk, white and extra dark, as well as milk and white, hazelnut and the brand new salted caramel – that they failed to read the not so small print.
