Cheesy Baked Spaghetti Bread Loaf

Ingredients (Serves 3–4)

For the spaghetti:

  • 250 g (9 oz) spaghetti

  • 2 cups marinara sauce (or tomato pasta sauce)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt, to taste

  • Black pepper, to taste

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ½ tsp dried basil

For the bread:

  • 1 large loaf of Italian bread or French bread

  • 2 tbsp butter, softened

  • 1 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove fresh garlic, minced)

For the topping:

  • 1½–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

  • Fresh parsley, finely chopped (for garnish)

Step 1: Cook the spaghetti

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente.

  3. Drain well and set aside.

Step 2: Prepare the sauce

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Pour in the marinara sauce.

  4. Season with salt, black pepper, oregano, and basil.

  5. Simmer for 5–7 minutes.

  6. Add the cooked spaghetti and toss until evenly coated with sauce.

Step 3: Prepare the bread

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C (375°F).

  2. Slice the bread loaf lengthwise and hollow out the center slightly to create space for the spaghetti.

  3. Mix softened butter with garlic powder (or fresh garlic).

  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly inside the bread.

Step 4: Assemble

  1. Stuff the spaghetti mixture generously into the bread cavity.

  2. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.

  3. Finish with Parmesan cheese.

Step 5: Bake

  1. Place the stuffed bread on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  2. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

  3. For a golden top, broil for an additional 2–3 minutes (watch closely).

Step 6: Serve

  1. Remove from the oven and let rest for 3–5 minutes.

  2. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

  3. Slice and serve warm.


Serving Notes

  • Best enjoyed hot while the cheese is stretchy.

  • Serve with extra marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

  • Works great as a party dish, comfort food, or shared meal.
