Ingredients

For the Sandwich

  • 2 soft sandwich rolls or brioche buns

  • 120 g (4 oz) Italian cured meats (salami, prosciutto, or coppa), thinly sliced

  • 2 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese

For the Herb Butter

  • 40 g (3 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley or basil, finely chopped

  • ½ tsp dried oregano

  • ¼ tsp black pepper


Instructions

1. Prepare the Herb Butter

In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic, chopped herbs, oregano, and black pepper until well combined.
Set aside.


2. Assemble the Sandwich

Slice the sandwich rolls horizontally.
Layer the cured meats evenly on the bottom half of each roll.
Place cheese slices on top of the meat.


3. Add Herb Butter

Spread the herb butter generously on the inside of the top bun.


4. Bake

Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.
Place sandwiches on a baking tray.
Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and the bread is lightly toasted.


5. Serve

Remove from oven and let rest for 1–2 minutes.
Serve warm while the cheese is gooey and aromatic.
