The city was preparing for a heavy storm when an underground railway tunnel suddenly lost power.

A passenger train stopped deep beneath the city.

Seconds later, part of the tunnel ceiling collapsed.

Dust filled the air.

People screamed and rushed toward the emergency exit.

Among the rescue team was Ethan Cole, a 28-year-old European rescue soldier.

He wore a dark navy rescue uniform, a yellow rescue helmet, protective gloves and a red emergency backpack.

Ethan helped several passengers escape.

Then he heard a child's voice behind him.

“Help!”

Ethan turned around.

A young boy was standing near the emergency barrier.

His face was covered in dust.

“My dad is still inside!”

Ethan looked toward the dark tunnel.

Another section of the ceiling cracked.

His teammate grabbed his arm.

“Ethan, we have to leave! The tunnel is unstable!”

Ethan looked at the frightened boy.

Then he looked back into the darkness.

“How far inside?”

The boy pointed toward the abandoned train.

“The last carriage.”

Ethan took a deep breath.

“Stay with the rescue team.”

And he ran back into the tunnel.

🚨 Inside the Tunnel

The emergency lights flickered.

Ethan moved carefully through the smoke and dust.

He called out:

“Sir! Can you hear me?”

A faint voice answered.

“Over here!”

Ethan found the boy's father trapped behind a fallen metal door.

The man was conscious but unable to move.

“My son… is he safe?”

Ethan nodded.

“He's waiting for you.”

Ethan began clearing the debris.

The metal was heavy.

His teammate shouted through the radio:

“Ethan, get out! The structure is moving!”

Ethan looked up.

Small pieces of concrete were falling from the ceiling.

But he continued.

“I have him. I'm bringing him out.”

Suddenly, the tunnel shook.

A large section of debris fell behind Ethan.

The exit was partially blocked.

For a moment, Ethan was trapped inside with the injured passenger.

He looked at the man.

“We're getting out.”

Together, they moved toward a narrow emergency passage.

Ethan supported the man's weight while guiding him through the darkness.

Finally, they saw light.

The rescue team was waiting at the exit.

The boy suddenly saw his father.

“Dad!”

He ran toward him.

The father hugged his son tightly.

Ethan stood several meters away, exhausted and covered in dust.

His teammate walked over.

“You almost got trapped in there.”

Ethan looked at the father and son.

Then he smiled.

“But they didn't.”

As the rescue operation ended, the boy approached Ethan.

He held out a small flashlight.

“You dropped this.”

Ethan looked at it and smiled.

“Keep it.”

The boy shook his head.

“Why?”

Ethan answered:

“So you remember that even in the darkest place, there's always a light.”

The boy smiled.

The rescue team walked away as the first sunlight appeared above the city.
