-
300 g button mushrooms or cremini mushrooms
-
1 cup all-purpose flour
-
2 large eggs

-
1 teaspoon lemon juice
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions

1. Prepare the Mushrooms
-
Clean the mushrooms gently with a damp paper towel.
-
Trim the stems if needed and cut large mushrooms in half.
-
Pat completely dry to help the coating stick better.

-
Bowl 1: Add flour.
-
Bowl 2: Whisk eggs with milk until smooth.
-
Bowl 3: Mix breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

-
Coat mushrooms lightly in flour, shaking off excess.
-
Dip into the egg mixture, ensuring full coverage.
-
Roll in seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently so crumbs adhere well.
-
Place on a plate and rest for 5–10 minutes to set the coating.
4. Fry the Mushrooms
-
Heat oil in a deep pan or skillet to 175–180°C (350°F).
-
Fry mushrooms in small batches for 2–3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
-
Lightly sprinkle with salt while hot.
5. Make the Creamy Herb Dip
-
In a small bowl, mix mayonnaise, sour cream, parsley, dill, garlic, and lemon juice.
-
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
-
Chill for 10 minutes for best flavor.
Serving Suggestions
-
Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley and a light sprinkle of grated Parmesan if desired.
-
Pair with lemon wedges for extra freshness.
-
Ideal as an appetizer, party snack, or side dish.
Tips
-
For extra crunch, double-coat by repeating the egg and breadcrumb step.
-
Air-fryer option: cook at 200°C (390°F) for 10–12 minutes, flipping halfway.
-
Use spicy mayo or garlic aioli for a flavor twist.
