This dish features juicy grilled beef steak, sliced and topped with a fresh, herby chimichurri sauce, served alongside crispy garlic fries and roasted asparagus. It’s a hearty, restaurant-style meal with bold flavors and a perfect balance of richness and freshness.


Ingredients (Serves 2)

For the Steak

  • 2 beef steaks (ribeye, sirloin, or strip steak, 250–300 g each)

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper


For the Chimichurri Sauce

  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic, finely minced

  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 small red chili or red pepper flakes (to taste)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste


For the Garlic Fries

  • 3 large potatoes, cut into fries

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley


For the Asparagus

  • 1 bunch asparagus, trimmed

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Salt and black pepper

Step 1: Prepare the Fries

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).

  2. Toss potato fries with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  3. Spread in a single layer on a baking tray.

  4. Bake for 30–35 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crispy.

  5. In the last 5 minutes, sprinkle with minced garlic.

  6. Remove from oven and toss with chopped parsley.


Step 2: Roast the Asparagus

  1. Toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper.

  2. Roast in the oven (or grill pan) for 10–12 minutes until tender and slightly charred.

  3. Set aside.


Step 3: Cook the Steak

  1. Pat steaks dry and season generously with salt and pepper.

  2. Heat a grill pan or skillet over high heat until very hot.

  3. Add olive oil and sear steaks for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare (adjust for doneness).

  4. Remove steaks from heat and rest for 5 minutes.

  5. Slice against the grain.


Step 4: Make the Chimichurri

  1. In a bowl, combine parsley, garlic, chili, salt, and pepper.

  2. Stir in red wine vinegar and olive oil.

  3. Mix well and adjust seasoning to taste.


Serving

  1. Arrange sliced steak on plates.

  2. Spoon chimichurri generously over the steak.

  3. Serve with garlic fries and roasted asparagus on the side.

  4. Enjoy immediately while hot.
