1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
-
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
For the Sautéed Spinach
-
4 cups fresh spinach
-
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
-
1 clove garlic, minced

Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Mashed Yukon Potatoes
-
2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
-
1/2 cup warm milk or heavy cream
-
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare the Mashed Yukon Potatoes
-
Place the potato chunks in a large pot and cover with cold, salted water.
-
Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
-
Drain well and return the potatoes to the pot.
-
Add butter and warm milk, then mash until smooth and creamy.
-
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Cover and keep warm.
2. Cook the Steak
-
Pat the steaks dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
-
Add the steaks and sear for 3–5 minutes per side, depending on thickness and desired doneness.
-
During the last minute of cooking, add butter and minced garlic to the pan.
-
Spoon the melted butter over the steaks to baste them.
-
Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for at least 5 minutes before serving.
3. Make the Creamy Cajun Shrimp
-
Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning and salt.
-
In the same skillet (or a clean one), melt butter over medium heat.
-
Add garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
-
Add shrimp and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
-
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
-
Stir in Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat.
4. Sauté the Spinach
-
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
-
Add garlic and cook briefly until fragrant.
-
Add spinach and sauté for 1–2 minutes until wilted.
-
Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Serving Suggestions
-
Spoon mashed Yukon potatoes onto each plate.
-
Place a rested steak on top or alongside the potatoes.
-
Spoon creamy Cajun shrimp and sauce over the steak or beside it.
-
Finish with a serving of sautéed spinach.
Tips
-
Letting the steak rest ensures it stays juicy.
-
Adjust Cajun seasoning based on your spice tolerance.
-
Yukon Gold potatoes are ideal for a naturally creamy mash without needing excessive cream.
This dish is perfect for a special dinner, date night, or whenever you want a comforting yet elegant meal at home.
