Creamy Seafood Lasagna with Shrimp

Ingredients
For the Lasagna Layers

9–12 lasagna sheets (fresh or pre-cooked)
-
300g ricotta cheese
-
1 cup shredded mozzarella
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
For the Seafood Filling
-
200g cooked shrimp, roughly chopped
-
100g crab meat (optional but recommended)
-
1 tbsp butter
-
1 garlic clove, minced
-
1 tbsp chopped parsley
-
Salt & pepper, to taste
For the White Sauce (Cream Sauce)
-
2 tbsp butter
-
2 tbsp flour
-
2 cups milk or cream
-
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
-
Salt & pepper
-
A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
For Garnish
-
Whole shrimp for topping
-
Chopped parsley
-
Extra Parmesan
Instructions

1. Prepare the Seafood Filling
-
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
-
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
-
Add chopped shrimp and crab meat; cook for 1–2 minutes.
-
Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
-
Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Make the Creamy White Sauce
-
Melt butter in a saucepan.
-
Add flour and whisk for 1 minute to form a roux.
-
Slowly pour in milk/cream while whisking to avoid lumps.
-
Simmer until thickened.
-
Add Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
-
Remove from heat.
3. Prepare the Cheese Mixture
-
In a bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.

Mix until creamy.
4. Cook or Soften the Lasagna Sheets
-
If using dried sheets: boil until al dente.
-
If using fresh sheets: no boiling needed.
5. Assemble the Lasagna
In a baking dish:

Spread a thin layer of white sauce.
-
Add the first layer of lasagna sheets.
-
Spread ricotta-cheese mixture.
-
Add a layer of seafood filling.
-
Drizzle with white sauce.
-
Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
-
Finish with a top layer of pasta + white sauce + a light sprinkle of cheese.
6. Bake
-
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
-
Bake for 25–30 minutes until bubbling and lightly golden.
-
Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
7. Prepare the Shrimp Topping
-
Lightly sauté whole shrimp with butter, salt, and garlic (1–2 minutes).
-
Place on top of the lasagna for presentation.
8. Serve
-
Plate a slice of lasagna.
-
Add extra white sauce around the plate.
-
Garnish with parsley and Parmesan.
-
Top with sautéed whole shrimp.
